But a serendipitous interaction over social media in 2014 at the hands of Gucci’s creative director Allesandro Michelle accelerated this process even quicker.
Coco Capitán’s work traverses the worlds of fashion, art and photography. In 2012, she began exploring her lifelong connection to the sea through Naïvy, a project she has tirelessly expanded upon over the past decade through a variety of mediums—from paintings and large-scale photographs to artist-embellished found objects.The artist also photographed the Gucci advertising campaign. In 2018, Coco Capitán had her first solo museum exhibition in Asia at Seoul’s Daelim Museum, where 150 different works were presented for the ‘Is It Tomorrow Yet?’ exhibitio, followed by a museum exhibition at MEP Paris curated by Simon Baker.
